Hark!

Hmmm, I guess I need to make an update. Blogging every day. Hah! I’m having trouble blogging once a month it seems!

I guess it’s because there’s really nothing exciting to write about anyways. Plans for the wedding is continuing well, there’s still a bunch of things to do, but at least it’s all on the roll. Wedding invitations have been sent out to all, so we should be receiving confirmations all the way through the rest of this month.

Oh! My car’s fixed. At least it’s no longer overheating, although the whole exercise cost me R5000 which I didn’t really have to spare. If I did, I would’ve spent it on a PS3!

Gamewise, Gwyneth got me Super Mario Galaxy. It’s a really fun game, but oh so frustrating. I’m giving it a bit of a break at the moment, but will most likely return to it this weekend.

And that’s really all there is to say at the moment. Tomorrow night we’re going to Firkin to check out The Parlotones, and One Sock Thief. Should be a good gig!

Sheeeeeeez

Man, time just has this habit of slipping away eh?

Update time! We did go and watch the Studio1 appearance of The Black Hotels last Friday. Was quite cool to see the band again, and have a little chat with the members!

Saturday morning Gwyneth went to her aunt again, and I played games, as usual. I finished Mass Effect on Saturday, finally! It was an awesome game, can’t wait for the inevitable sequel. Saturday evening we went to my friend Christoff for a bit of a house-warming. Had a braai, and had a blackout as well. Fortunately we didn’t cook, otherwise we would’ve been eating raw food!

Sunday Gwyneth went to the cricket with my dad, and I played games and watched some movies. I decided to finish up with Rainbow Six:Vegas, and I got a big chunk done there.

I did manage to finish Rainbow Six this Wednesday past. Took me more then a year, but hey, it’s done!

Other then that, there’s not really much to say. Looks like another weekend of hopeful lazing around the house playing games and watching movies. No complaints from my side!

Mumblings

Eeeeh, for someone who said he’s going to do more regular postings to a blog, I’m not doing an awfully good job about it!

Probably because not an awful lot really has been happening. My car’s still not fixed, I’m driving with my mother’s Uno at the moment. We haven’t had much drama with power these last few days, but I’m willing to bet that’s going to change soon, as the mines are starting up again.

The wedding’s now 88 days away. I better start getting my ducks in a row! The invites are nearly finished at least, they should be going out from next week. Most urgently now, is to organise a minister, and I should probably look at monkey suits. I’m thinking of hiring, as I can’t see myself wearing the suit more then once!

Been watching a lot of movies lately. That’s good. It’s about time I get back into that hobby! Gamewise, it’s still Mass Effect in first position, followed closely by Burnout Paradise and Metroid Prime 3 bringing up the rear.

Nothing really new music wise. The Cold War Kids is growing on me, and The Editors even more so. That’s about all…

Mixed blessings

It’s very nearly weekend. This morning was a nightmare getting to work, due to our lovely load-shedding company, Eskom. Took me 25 minutes to get through a traffic light, and I believe I still got of lightly!

My car. Destroyed. Well, probably not that bad. It was still overheating, so my dad was looking at it. We got a new radiator cap, as the other one was leaking and that could’ve been the cause of the overheating. This morning when my dad drove with the car, it just died on the way to work. It’s towed back home, but I’m not happy. I just spent R2000 to get it fixed, and now it’s worse! I don’t have this kind of money, I need to save for the wedding. I feel like crying a bit even…

We got hold of Burnout Paradise yesterday. I really like it, it’s a whole new experience compared to the other Burnout games. I now have a little too much games to play I think though.

99 Days till the wedding.

This afternoon we will be meeting with the wedding planning people to discuss our colour scheme, which is Lime Green and Fuchsia. We’ll also be meeting with the florist to discuss the flowers we want for the wedding. Things are slowly starting to pick up momentum now. Gwyneth will be getting her aunt to help with the invitations, which we’ll hopefully get done by this month’s end, so we can get them sent out asap!

Got a good couple of hours in with Mass Effect last night, I’m really digging this game. Played some Metroid Prime 3 as well. Juggling between two consoles ain’t easy. Should probably not get a PS3 anytime soon, for sanity sake!

Weekend recap

An eventful weekend, but nothing too thrilling at least.

Friday afternoon I went to fetch my car. The mechanic had a good look at my car again, and he can’t find anything obviously funny with my car and the temperature. This morning I drove into work with her, and she was okay, although the temperature did rise a bit when standing at the traffic lights. I don’t know what it’ll do if I were to get stuck in traffic…

I went to see the doctor for the itching thingies I had, and he gave me some meds to help, seems to be sorted now.

Friday night we went for supper. Wanted to go to Cuppachinos, but there was a bit of drama there. The floor manager actually told us the waiting time’s going to be about one hour, as the boss guy was having panic attacks and had the kitchens in a tiff. I wonder how much business they lost due to this, quite shocking actually. So we went to our favourite steak house – Smokey Joes. Afterwards we went to Look&Listen and I bought Mass Effect for the 360.

Saturday morning I get informed by my mother that the pharmacy put my medical claim through my father’s instead of mine, as we share the same name. So I had to go get that sorted out, but fortunately it was a painless procedure. Thereafter I had my first haircut for the year, and I now look a bit more respectable!

Saturday evening we went to go see I Am Legend, not a bad movie, will write up a review on that a bit later.

Sunday we went to my friend Almero for lunch, and I borrowed Metroid Prime 3 from him for the Wii. I played a bit of that, and it’s a great example of how to do controls right for the Wii.

We watched Hard Candy last night, a bit of a disturbing movie, more on that later as well.

Through it all I managed to get about 6 hours of gametime in for Mass Effect. Great game, it’s going to take up a lot of my time…

And now it’s Monday. I really can’t get the hang of Mondays…
